Our 2020 Show

We are still hearing buzz from attendees of the fourth annual Boutique Bridal Show held in January at the elegant Le Pavillon in Parc Lafayette. It was an afternoon of sensory delights under crystal chandeliers and with a string quintet providing the perfect touch of ambient music as hundreds of brides-to-be and their BFFs and families perused more than 50 displays featuring cakes, dresses, event painters, jewelry, flowers, photographers, and wedding-related rentals all under one roof.

“Brides really appreciate the collection of resources we offer in a pleasant setting. They get the opportunity to have personalized conversations with those who can provide the elements that comprise their dream wedding. We make it a fun and productive experience,” said Robin Guidry, owner of the Boutique Bridal Show and publisher of MOTIF magazine.

Smiling people wearing name tags identifying them as BRIDE or GROOM represented a spectrum of ages, sipped champagne, nibbled on tasty bites served by staff circulating through the room. Some guests carried tote bags that said, “To Have and to Hold” as they perused aisles of wedding resources beautifully displayed. One booth featured a Victorian birdcage with live doves.

During the Ask the Expert Q & A segment deftly led by DJ Aaron Lane (and with wedding coordinator Hannah Trahan, photographer Catherine Guidry), brides and their close ones gathered around the stage, where experts from various fields answered questions from the audience. A photographer recommended taking wedding photos in advance to eliminate the long period of time between the wedding ceremony and the reception. She advised to let the professional photographer post images on social media first, not guests. Another expert offered, “If something is slightly different than what you picked, it’s okay. At the end of the day, you’ll still be married, and that’s what’s most important. Just be in the moment and be happy.” Another expert said, “Express who you are, your favorite colors, flowers, foods.” And a key point was addressed: budget. “Even if you say you don’t have a budget, you do. Everyone has a budget; it’s a question of the number.”

The much-awaited Style Show brought a hush over the room as models brought to life an array of bridal gowns, accessories, that featured Le Jour Couture, Deshotel’s Dress Shop, Bella Bridesmaids with hairstyles by Robert M’s.

Our “Best in Show” award for the most impressively presented booth was newcomer Circa Events!  There were also plenty of giveaways on the show floor, and our grand prizes included a “Mrs.” 14K gold and diamond charm and sterling silver necklace designed exclusively for The Boutique Bridal Show by G Jewelry. Congratulations to winners Hailey Leger (and Patrick Kiburz).
