Beautiful Bride

Beautiful bride Meredith Gil married handsome groom Derek Champagne (he actually has a twin brother!) at the historic Charleston Hotel in downtown Lake Charles, and it was quite the soiree. Built in 1929, the Charleston was Lake Charles’ first “skyscraper,” and has been restored to its former glory, creating a spectacular venue for the wondrous wedding.

Back in the day, Meredith’s paternal grandparents danced in the same ballroom where the stunning bride exchanged vows with her beau. With glittering chandeliers flanking the entranceĀ and a pianist tickling the ivories on the grand as guests arrived, the event was glorious from start to finish. The bridesmaids were pretty in pink as they met the bow-tied groomsmen in front of the white-draped windows.

Dashing Derek set himself apart from the bridal party with his dapper long tie. After the couple exchanged their personally-written vows, the party danced the night away in the ballroom, taking breaks to cool off on the balcony overlooking the lake. What a lovely sight on a gorgeous night!
